Keys to Experiencing
Victory
By Suzanne Leitz |
We’ll never be able to
effectively witness and minister to a lost and dying world as long as we are
not experiencing victory in our own lives. It’s not all about us, but it
starts with us.
- We cannot
experience victory in our own lives if we do not apply God’s word to our
situation.
- 1 John
5:14-15
14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that
if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15And
if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have
the petitions that we have asked of Him.
- His word is His
will.
- We cannot
experience victory in our own lives if we see other people as our
problem.
- Ephesians
6:11-13
11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your
stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is
not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the
authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the
spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore
put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes,
you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done
everything, to stand.
- We cannot
experience victory in our own lives if we are ruled by our flesh.

1
Corinthians 6:19-20
19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy
Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not
your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor
God with your body.
-
Romans 8:4-9
4So that the righteous and just requirement of the Law
might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the
flesh but in the ways of the Spirit [our lives governed not by the
standards and according to the dictates of the flesh, but controlled
by the Holy Spirit].
5For those who are according to the flesh and are
controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those
things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the
Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their
minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.
6Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason
without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the
miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of
the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].
7[That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal
thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit
itself to God's Law; indeed it cannot.
8So then those who are living the life of the flesh
[catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature]
cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.
9But you are not living the life of the flesh, you are
living the life of the Spirit, if the [Holy] Spirit of God [really]
dwells within you [directs and controls you]. But if anyone does not
possess the [Holy] Spirit of Christ, he is none of His [he does not
belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God].
-
Galatians 5:16
But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit
[responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit];
then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the
flesh (of human nature without God).
-
Galatians 5:25
If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the
Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit [Adam Clarke, The Holy
Bible with A Commentary.] we have our life in God, let us go forward
[Marvin Vincent, Word Studies.] walking in line, our conduct
controlled by the Spirit.]
- We cannot
experience victory in our own lives if we do not know who we are in
Christ.
- 2 Corinthians
5:21
21God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that
in him we might become the righteousness of God.
- We cannot
experience victory in our own lives if we do not use the God-given
blood-bought authority in the name of Jesus.
- Luke 10:19
19I have given you authority to trample on snakes and
scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will
harm you.
- We cannot
experience victory in our own lives if we are proud.
- 1 Peter 5:5-7
5… All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one
another, because,
"God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." 6Humble
yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you
up in due time. 7Cast all your anxiety on him because he
cares for you.
- We cannot
experience victory in our own lives if we do not know we have been given
the victory.
- Proverbs
2:7-8
7 He holds victory in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
8 for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.
- 2 Corinthians
2:14
14Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to
triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge
by us in every place.
- John 16:33
33These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may
have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good
cheer, I have overcome the world."
- Romans 8:37
37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors
through him who loved us.
- 1 Corinthians
15:57
57But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making
us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 1 John 5:4
4for
everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that
has overcome the world, even our faith.
