Mark
Ussery praised God
for his family and the wonderful
things God has done for them. Two years ago they went through a
crisis that required they put their complete
faith in
God, and God has not let them down! “God has been
faithful,” Mark asserts. Mark owns a flea market in Many and
sees divine appointments and
daily blessings. "Every need is met," Mark said. |

Cheryl Rivers
thanked God for many miracles He has done in the lives of her
and her family. After her grandson was run over by a car in 2005,
Cheryl called her church family to prayer, and the boy was just
fine. Her second grandson was born early, and though he had a slow
start, is developing normally now. “I know it’s God. When you turn
over your problems--no matter how big it is or how small it is--and
have faith, no matter what you see or what you hear,
God is faithful.” |

Tish Jacobs began by saying, “I
don’t believe the Lord has brought me this far to leave me. And I
thank the Lord for Jesus, I thank the
Lord for a
saved life, and I thank the Lord that I know that the Lord has
me here for a reason. And He’s put me in a place in a position that
I can’t just talk this thing, but I have to walk it.” She also
related that recently as she was stopped in her vehicle waiting for
someone to turn, she was rammed from behind. She immediately
remembered what one of her Christian brothers at church, Mr. Jack
Carter, always says: “I ain’t
mad at nobody.” So she took that to heart and went through the
situation with the
peace of God,
thankful that she wasn’t injured. |

Mrs. Ernestine Dees said,
“There is no way I can tell all of you all of the
blessings that I receive daily from the Lord.” She joyfully
proclaimed that at 77 years of age she doesn’t look like it or feel
like it. She is on no prescribed medication, and doesn’t even wear
glasses anymore—the Lord completely healed her
eyes. “I am healthy and strong. I can get up in the morning by
myself, go to the bathroom by myself, and dress myself!” (When she
goes to the nursing home, she sees people younger than she is who
have to be bathed, dressed, and cared for.) All her needs are
provided, and she even has too much of some stuff! “I am blessed
with a church where I am fed with the Word. I thank the Lord for
Brother Frank and Nelda….I have been blessed by the church…I am just
wonderfully blessed in every area, and I thank the Lord for it.” |
 |
Ten-year-old Sarah Leitz
bravely strode to the microphone to give her testimony. “God gave me
courage to
heal two of my friends at school and I really thank Him for
doing that.” |
 |
Norma Garcia told of two
wonderful things God has done for her lately. He
healed her and He
led her to Word of Truth Family Church where she was filled with
the Holy Spirit. “He’s been so wonderful to me….I’ve never been
happier in my life. Truly, y’all. I don’t think I ever have a bad
day! I don’t think I ever stop laughing!...I don’t know how to stop
smiling. I don’t know how to stop being happy….He healed me, and I
know in my heart I will never get sick again. I get tired, but it
only takes about five minutes, and after I start
laughing, I feel better again!” Norma also praised the Lord for
what He has done in the life of her granddaughter, in the life of
her husband, and in the life of her son-in-law who was totally
healed of cancer after she
prayed for him. “When I walk in here, I just feel His presence
and He fills me up. When I go home, I stay full. And when I come
back, I don’t know how I can get any fuller, but I do!” |

The Lord
led Vickie to Word of Truth Family Church where she has
jumped in with both feet, ready to learn and
serve. Vickie told her church family what the Lord has done for
her in the past few years. “I was diagnosed in June of 1999 with
bipolar disorder. They told me I was crazy and that I would
have to take lithium my whole entire life, and antidepressants. I
was up—manic—which I call it a cross between Wonder Woman and King
Kong…and then I would be down on the couch thinking of ways to kill
myself…I was a mess.” However, someone prayed for her and told her
what she had been told by the psychiatrists were lies from the
devil. Another brother in Christ told her she needed to renew her
mind to the Word of God. She took these truths to heart and began to
renew her mind. “I confessed
every day, and I kept confessing…and I walked away from those
pills…I do NOT have a
spirit of fear. I have a spirit of power and love, and I have a
sound mind, and I will never take lithium again or antidepressants
and I will never, ever have to walk in that kind of
darkness again!” |

Judy Manasco brought her Bible
with her to the microphone. “I’m not going to preach!” she declared.
“Go ahead!” Pastor Frank urged. “God has just
blessed me throughout
my life,” Judy related. She told of the death of her father when she
was a child, and the difficult time her mother had raising the
family. However, they were Christians and they were
happy. Judy was
a good child. Even throughout college, God
protected her and she
stayed out of trouble. She tried smoking and alcohol, but found them
extremely distasteful. She married and had five children, all of
whom are grown now, and are Christians. The four that are married,
are married to Christians; and the youngest is engaged to a fine
Christian man. “I’m very, very thankful for that,” she said. Judy
told of how the Lord has really helped her and given her
wisdom and
strength on her job where she supervises many employees. She shared
scriptures the Lord used to encourage her. Lastly, she shared how
the Lord totally healed her damaged knee (which had been causing
constant excruciating pain) after a Christian sister at Word of
Truth, Mrs. Elsie Carter, prayed for her. “I just praise God who
healed me and has always taken care of me.” |

Cherish Davis promised not to
“cry and be emotional,” but began to tell how God has really blessed
her. She is getting ready to graduate as a nurse, something she
gives glory to God for. “Every day I’m blessed. I have
peace in my home, I am married to the most incredible person…I
went from times in the past where I’ve been unsure of things and
stumbling, and now I am so certain of where I am and where I’m
going. I’m not afraid of what might happen…Because I know that God
has me in his hands. I’m going to have a baby, my wealth is
expanding, my family, my home--I’m just happy and I have peace! I’m
so grateful that I can come to church and that I can
sing with the praise and
worship group…When I
lift my hands and my voice to God and I let His Spirit take hold
of me, I feel such peace, and I count it such a privilege to
worship God with my brothers and sisters in Christ. I’m glad to
be part of something that’s bigger than me….I am blessed!” |
 |
Carma Richey said the Lord has
brought her so far. He has brought her through depression and
thoughts of suicide. But now “I have
joy and
peace that is
unspeakable that only God can give…And I’m thankful for
everything that I have overcome....I’m just excited in the Lord!” |
 |
Suzanne Leitz said, "I won’t
let an opportunity go by to give
praise and
honor and
glory to God because of who He is and what He’s done in my
life.” Suzanne then told how she received Jesus as her
Lord early in life, and “was always a
good kid.” However, she doesn’t take credit for it; she says the
Lord directed her and
helped her. Having a good Christian friend in high school, she
didn’t have the negative peer pressure to make bad decisions others
her age made. She enumerated some
blessings she is
thankful for: “I like my job (not everyone can say that), I have
a wonderful husband who I love very much and who loves me, I have
three kids and I’m proud of every one of them. They’re growing up to
be strong and wonderful…I just want to give the Lord the glory and
the praise for it.” |

Bob Hoffman told his marvelous
testimony. On December 11, 2002, he was at Word of Truth working on
the youth building with some other men when “the
devil decided he wanted to take me out. He slipped up on me and
before I knew what happened, I was laying on the ground with a heart
attack. That’s not a very comfortable place to be.” Pastor Frank
took him to the local emergency room where he was later told he died
twice. “The devil tried to take me out,” he repeated, “but God had
other plans.” He was airlifted to Shreveport. “They were actually
sending me there to die…but I told the guy on the helicopter I was
coming back.” His Word of Truth church family prayed fervently for
him, and after surgery, he completely recovered. “I kept believing
that
God had a plan and that He was definitely in charge and He had
something for me to do.” |
