What Should We Do?
By Suzanne Leitz |
Trust, delight, and commit.
"Trust (lean on, rely on and be confident) in
the Lord, and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His
faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed." (Psalm 37:3, Amplified Bible).
"The Lord also will be a refuge and a high tower for the oppressed, a refuge
and a stronghold in times of trouble (high cost, destitution and
desperation). And they who know Your name (who have experience and
acquaintance with Your mercy) will lean on and confidently put their trust
in You; for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of and for
You) on the authority of God's Word and the right of their necessity."
(Psalm 9:9-10). "Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but he who
trusts, relies on and confidently leans on the Lord shall be compassed about
with mercy and with loving-kindness." (Psalm 32:10).
Trust, delight, and commit.
"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will
give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart." (Psalm 37:4).
"Blessed--happy, fortunate, prosperous and enviable--is the man who walks
and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly (following their advice, their
plans and purposes), nor stands (submissive and inactive) in the path where
sinners walk, nor sits down (to relax and rest) where the scornful (and the
mockers) gather. But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and
on His law--the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God--he
habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. And he shall
be like a tree firmly planted (and tended) by the streams of water, ready to
bring forth his fruit in its season; his leaf also shall not fade or wither,
and everything he does shall prosper (and come to maturity). (Psalm 1:1-3).
Trust, delight, and commit.
"Commit your way to the Lord--roll and repose
(each care of) your load on Him; trust (lean on, rely on and be confident)
also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass." (Psalm 37:5).
